Hey anony if you wanna msg me privately I’ll respond more extensively cause I’d need time to look up stuff on what specific issues i disagree with… but in general as a woman who prefers the submissive role within a relationship with a strong, confident Male… most feminists I’ve met have been rather insulting about my choices and opinions. While there are many who do agree that if a woman has choices that includes being able to choose her role within a relationship, but I haven’t run into many of those types… I’ve unfortunately only run into the more militant man hating ones (which I’m told are a minority) who went out of their way to insult any opinion I voiced, even when I did agree with them.
I don’t disagree with the feminist movement, I just don’t see myself as ever identifying with it beyond the issues that I share a passion for. Definitely not anti-feminist, just… not in the club, I guess?
Got permission from my professor to do my next research essay on Slutwalks, which should be interesting when we hit the peer review portion of the assignment… from responses to our last essays its clear that most of my classmates are very conservative and closed minded.
One guy even “screamed” in all caps in response to my “religious faith should not be a factor in political decisions” saying if I didn’t want to be part of a christian nation i should turn in my money (cause it says in god we trust) and leave, lol…
The professor’s only response on my choice was to remind me to make sure my sources are credible.
A friend laughed at my choice, but only because I’m most decidedly *not* a feminist and disagree with most of what they say… but this is something I am passionate about.
